The idea behind James Lee Stanley and John Batdorf going into the studio in March of 2004 was to make a recording like no other you've ever heard. The magic spell? Take classic Rolling Stones songs and rearrange them through their (J&J's) own sensibilities of acoustic guitars and rich vocal harmonies, tempered through thirty years of making acoustic rock music. Both James Lee and John are well equipped to deliver the goods.

FI magazine called James Lee Stanley's solo guitar and voice cd, Freelance Human Being, "a masterpiece and one of the all time great recordings." John Batdorf's Batdorf and Rodney were signed to Atlantic by none other than Ahmet Ertegun, after which they recorded for Asylum and Arista. John was also the source music man for Touched by an Angel for five years.

Between them John and James Lee have recorded over 30 acoustic rock music albums. Then they came together and created a genuine masterpiece. All Wood and Stones will serve to reintroduce the musical genius of James Lee Stanley and John Batdorf to the world.

James Lee and John spent the better part of 2004 picking and arranging the songs, recording and producing, mixing and mastering what Beachwood Recordings considers the crown jewel in its catalog. James Lee was either on the road or recording All Wood and Stones with John for the entire year. John has been doing commercials and music for television when he wasn't in the studio with James Lee recording All Wood and Stones.
